Forms of financing agreement

 

In the framework of its transparency policy, AFD has decided to publish its main model financing agreements on its website.

AFD cannot be held responsible for any use that may be made of these models.
 
Our aim is to give you information about AFD’s usual financing conditions in the framework of grant agreements and loan agreements with States, companies, banks and financial institutions. Clauses contained in the agreements available below may be modified by AFD in order to take into account the specific nature of the project financed and/or of the beneficiary of the financing.
 
AFD would consequently like to draw your attention to the three following points:
  • the models available below have been designed to apply to financing in euros. However, under certain conditions, AFD may allocate financing in other currencies, particularly US dollars and, in certain cases, local currency. Certain clauses in the models available below may therefore be modified by AFD in the case of non-euro financing.
  • specific agreements are signed for project and program financing for NGOs. Models are available on AFD’s website dedicated to NGOs >> Go to NGO portal
  • AFD only contractually undertakes to finance a project provided (1) there is a favorable outcome to AFD’s preparation and appraisal procedure for the relevant project, (2) its internal decision-making bodies approve financing for the relevant project and (3) the financing agreement is signed with terms that are satisfactory to AFD.
